| The Pottery at Long Lane Farm was founded in 1994 by Phoebe Wiley, whose background as a painter inspires her work on the wheel.
She makes paintings on the thrown pots - forms that are ample, simple, sensible, and cheerful. Each pot is a new attempt at composition - where color, texture, and line, combined by fire, describe the underlying form.
The motifs on the pieces are inspired by life on the farmleaves of oak, maple, and tulip poplar, vegetables and herbs, doves, chickens, crows, Delaware shad, air, earth, fire, and water.
